Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager

Position Overview

The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for implementing strategic initiatives & sourcing strategies, insure legal compliance & maintain sources of supply. This position will also lead sourcing teams, establish & prioritize activities for their team to achieve objectives & results.


  • Analyze & understand historical spending patterns
  • Establish & facilitate cross-functional teams
  • Manage direct reports in various capacities
  • Develop & execute sourcing strategies & tactics
  • Manage & ensures that team meet/support operational goals
  • Institute a staff development program
  • Manage & report department KPI’s
  • Analyze pricing & financial trends to develop strategic initiatives
  • Define client stakeholder needs & advises on budget/strategy development
  • Assist in performance reviews with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Execute purchasing activities
  • Conduct qualitative & quantitative supplier analysis
  • Develop Request for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Quotes (RFQ), assess results, document recommendations & communication results to suppliers
  • Manage supplier relationships, track performance & communicate feedback
  • Define & execute implementation plans
  • Ensure alignment between the business strategy & the sourcing strategy
  • Negotiates with suppliers to secure appropriate cost, schedule, quality, payment and delivery terms


  • 5-7 years’ strategic sourcing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
  • Experience sourcing from international suppliers preferred
  • Knowledge of automated supply chain management systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Working knowledge of budgets & cost allocation management
  • Excellent negotiation & communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal & organizational skills, must be able to interface, collaborate and motivate across all levels of the company
  • Flexible, proactive individual with the ability to work independently
